Sony has announced a new compact cinema camera. The company calls it the FX30. This camera is built for creators who want professional video quality in a small body. It uses a Super 35 sensor with 26 megapixels. That gives users more detail and better control over depth of field.

The FX30 records up to 4K resolution at 120 frames per second. It also supports 10-bit 4:2:2 color and S-Log3 gamma. These features help users get more flexibility in post-production. The camera includes built-in cooling so it can shoot longer without overheating. It also has dual base ISO settings of 800 and 2500 for cleaner images in low light.
Sony added several physical controls to the FX30. There are dedicated dials for ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. Users can adjust settings quickly without going into menus. The camera also has a full-size HDMI port, two SD card slots, and a microphone input. It weighs about 720 grams, making it easy to carry.
This new model sits between Sony’s full-frame FX3 and its smaller ZV series. It targets indie filmmakers, vloggers, and content creators who need cinema-grade tools without big size or cost. The FX30 works with E-mount lenses, so users can use many existing Sony lenses.
